Eurocentrism in Engineering Textbooks: Bias in citing historical engineering advancement

This pilot study tries to examine bias and discriminatory practices in writing the historical sections of Engineering textbooks. The collected data hints at a biased practice of citing historical engineering advancements from ancient Greece, western Europe, and the US while underestimating or disregarding historical examples from indigenous people and people from other regions such as eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
