For the past two years I have been doing research with Dr. Jingjing Qiu. My research focuses on understanding the oxidation of benzyl alcohol molecules in electrochemistry settings. This could provide fundamental insights for industrial conversion of benzyl alcohol molecules into other commercially-needed chemicals with renewable electricity. I would be presenting the data I've collected so far including cyclic voltammorgrams coupled with a quartz crystal microbalance as well as possible products of the reaction and if I have enough time to complete it results of a light-catalyzed reaction on gold electrodes.
