Become a User

Eligibility

Access to GTAC is available to SFSU-affiliated researchers, including:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Graduate students
  • Postdoctoral scholars
  • Faculty investigators

Student users must have approval and oversight from a sponsoring Principal Investigator (PI).

External collaborator access may be considered on a case-by-case basis.


Facility Model

GTAC operates as a structured self-service research facility. Users perform their own laboratory work following onboarding and training.

GTAC does not operate as a drop-off or sample processing service.


Onboarding Requirements

Prior to independent access, users must:

  1. Meet with the GTAC Director
  2. Complete required safety training
  3. Complete instrument-specific training
  4. Review and acknowledge the GTAC User Agreement (Citizen Contract)

Access is granted only after onboarding requirements are complete.
 

Scheduling & Use

  • Equipment must be reserved in advance
  • Users are responsible for maintaining shared equipment standards
  • Access may be suspended for failure to follow facility policies

 

GTAC Hours
Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
After-hours access requires prior approval.
 

GTAC Open Lab Support Hours – HH125
Monday | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Thursday | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
