Many elderly people struggle with taking their medication at the prescribed times and keeping all of their medications in one place. Our project aims to help with organization by having all the users' required pills dispensed from the same device and at the same time every day. The device uses a rotating carousel with multiple compartments that will align with a dispensing funnel system at scheduled times. The scheduled times will be detected using a real-time clock sensor. Medication will be dispensed one at a time into a holding compartment. There will be an LED on the outside casing to indicate when medication has been dispensed. An ultrasonic sensor will then detect when a person is close to the device and trigger the release of the medication from the holding compartment, and make it accessible to the user.
