Our project centered around the problem of the consumption of energy specifically for residential heating. Energy costs are high and space heating accounts for 43% of energy consumed by the average home in the United States. The aim of our project was to validate if recycled crushed glass would be a viable storage medium for residential Thermal Energy Storage (TES) devices. We built a device to test this hypothesis.
