Effective Quantum Yield of an Integrated Dipole Emitter Inside a Slab Waveguide

We study the effective quantum yield of a dipole quantum emitter embedded inside a dielectric slab waveguide and show how it is closely correlated with a normalized effective mode area of the modes supported by the waveguide. We numerically calculate the confinement properties of our waveguide by performing eigenmode analysis on a wide range of waveguide parameters and compare these results to the quantum efficiency calculated by 3-D finite element method simulations for each waveguide configuration in our dataset.
