Overview

SFSU Climate HQ hosted Matt Scott, Director of Storytelling and Engagement, Project Drawdown on campus on September 13, 2024. Matt Scott is the host of the Drawdown's Neighborhood docuseries, featured on The Weather Channel's Pattrn Network, and has led storytelling and engagement initiatives in collaboration with NASA, the White House, Nike, and more.

Matt led two sessions during his visit. The first one was with SFSU students in BIOL 240: Introductory Biology II. This session was also open to the campus community beyond the students enrolled in the course. The second session was a CSU-wide training on “​​Students Discovering Climate Solutions: Resources and insights for bringing climate change to classrooms and communities.” The training was attended by 50 faculty and staff across the CSUs including members from the CSU Chancellor’s Office, CSU STEM-NET, and leads/directors of climate initiatives in other CSU campuses.
