Microscopy, the pinnacle of biological instrumentation, at its foundation uses microscopes to study and examine very small subjects. Fluorescence microscopy, a focus in microscopy which can help us study the response to fluorescent illumination in specimen, requires notoriously high-priced, inaccessible equipment. FluorCam is able to provide an open-source, customizable tool for high-throughput fluorescent microscope based research, through the replicable customization of a 3D printer controlled by a Raspberry Pi microcontroller.
