Halophilic archaea adapt to life in hypersaline environments. The S-layer, a cell wall component composed of glycoproteins, plays a remarkable role in this adaptation. This paper investigates the different genes encoding these proteins across various archaeal populations. Bioinformatics analysis will predict the structure, assembly process, and ultimately, the function of these proteins in adaptation to hyper-saline environments.
