Mushroom Discovered by SF State Professor of Biology Dennis Desjardin Featured on USPS Stamp

The US Postal Service recently announced a series of stamps featuring bioluminescent life, including a glowing mushroom discovered by SF State Professor of Biology Dennis Desjardin. The featured fungus, Mycena lucentipes, was discovered in Brazil by Desjardin and colleagues along with five other bioluminescent species in 2007. When the stamp is released sometime in 2018, it will be the first ever USPS stamp to feature a mushroom.
