The CoSE Student Success Center offers a variety of workshops to aid students in achieving their academic goals. Workshops are held at various times during the semester and will be posted on this page as they are scheduled. For questions about any of the workshops, please contact email@example.com.
Probation Workshops are designed for students who are placed on Academic Probation or Subject to Disqualification as a result of having an SF State GPA or Cumulative GPA of less than a 2.0. These workshops are an opportunity to learn more about what it means to be on academic probation, resources to utilize on campus, and how to achieve your academic goals. While we won’t be able to complete your probation process in a single visit (a follow-up meeting with a faculty advisor is required), we are the ones who are best able to get you started along the right path. The advisors in the CoSE Student Success Center are here to assist you in identifying the factors impacting your academic progress, and aid you in continuing down the path toward your degree. The Engineering Department and the CoSE Student Success Center invite all Freshmen Engineering majors to come to a workshop to plan ahead for courses to register for in Spring 2019. Find out more about which General Education courses you should tackle and which ones are not required for your major, as well as how to make sure you’re on track for progressing in your major. Workshops will be co-led by a CoSE Advisor and an Engineering Faculty Advisor. Attendance and participation in the workshop will fulfill the requirement for the Engineering Department Advising Hold. To register for a workshop, sign up here.
Senior Advising Workshops are designed to give seniors who are about to graduate a thorough review of the graduation process and each student’s completed/missing General Education (GE) and university requirements. During this workshop, students will understand how and when to apply for graduation. In addition, it will give students the opportunity to proactively address issues with their transcripts or coursework. Register here.
