SF State Pre-Nursing Post-Bac Program Congratulates Cohort Epsilon

On May 12, we gathered to celebrate the achievements of Cohort Epsilon, the fifth cohort of the Pre-Nursing Post-Bac Certificate Program. The Program, which was established by Dr. Barry Rothman, Professor of Biology, in June, 2012, offers prerequisite coursework, personalized advising, and psychosocial support to students wishing to apply to health professional schools. Nearly 95% of the approximately 80 students who have completed the Post-Bac Program and applied have gained admission to various Nursing, Physician Assistant, and Public Health programs across the country. We expect Cohort Epsilon, a group of dedicated students who have just completed 3 semesters of rigorous science coursework, will demonstrate similar success as they apply for the next step in their education and career. To quote Dr. Rothman, “as I look to this group of students, I see the future of healthcare, and it looks good!”
